Esther Salamon

Esther Salamon

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Esther Salamon at the beginning of December 2023. Esther’s creativity, energy and passion for social justice led her to bring people together to explore the concept of Independent Creative Living.

Her vision was to create a place where people could afford to age well in comfort and safety whilst continuing to develop their creativity alongside the communities in which they live. Esther was particularly concerned with artists who give many years of their lives to working creatively with others but can end up not having been in a position to provide for their later lives.

Esther’s energy, vision and integrity will be greatly missed by many, but with her characteristic foresight she asked a few of us to work together to realise Independent Creative Living. We hope you will continue to work with us to bring this project to fruition and honour the memory of an inspiring, generous and thoughtful woman. It was our privilege to know her and to be touched by her creativity.
